Hello Neighbor is an Alexandria area initiative with a simple purpose – to help new residents integrate into the community. Moving to a new place and feeling connected to a new town with new people is challenging. Hello Neighbor can help with that.
Whatever brought you here, from the standout education and jobs to the lake life, we’re happy to have you. Newcomers help make Alexandria and surrounding communities a vibrant place to live and work. If you ask any of our longtime residents, the odds are good that they couldn’t imagine themselves anywhere else.

It’s much easier to feel connected when you’ve actually made a few connections. That’s where we come in. The Alexandria Area Economic Development Commission and the Chamber of Commerce co-host events throughout the year for residents to get to know one another. While every event is different, we’ll help you learn more about local businesses, hear about volunteer opportunities or professional organizations, and find common interests with a few new friends.
